The "Altai Wintering" holiday opens the winter tourist season in the Altai Territory. The event is timed to coincide with the arrival of swans to the lakes of the Swan Nature Reserve in the Soviet District. Therefore, snow-white birds accompany the guests of the holiday to almost any of its many venues: captured in photographs and in stage images, embodied in handmade souvenirs.

The main events of the "Altai wintering" take place on the territory of the tourist complex "Biryuzovaya Katun". Spectacular winter sports competitions, an exhibition-fair of artisans and commodity producers, animation zones, contests, master classes, and folk festivities await guests.

Of course, one of the main locations of the holiday is the Sovetsky District. Here, on the territory of the "Swan" reserve, there are non-freezing lakes - wintering grounds for whooper swans. Every year in December, birds fly to Altai, and at the beginning of March they leave the lake. Winter is the only time when you can watch them. Sightseeing buses from different cities go here, to the swans' wintering grounds.
