Altai Territory is one of the religious centers of Siberia. There are many religious communities in the region. The largest is the Orthodox community. It includes more than 180 parishes, six monasteries, three sketes. In the two largest cities of the region - Barnaul and Biysk - there are cathedrals - Pokrovsky and Uspensky.

In the region, there are Catholic and Lutheran (their parishes number about 400 people), Muslim communities (the total number of believers in the Altai Territory is more than 3000 people). Representatives of various religious trends also operate in the Altai Territory.
