Altai Territory, Soloneshensky District. On the left bank slope of the Anui Valley, 3 km upstream from the mouth of the Karama River.

Karama is the oldest Paleolithic site on the territory of Russia, the confirmed age of which is estimated from 800 thousand to 1 million years BC. So far, this archaeological site is little known in wide tourist circles, although the opening of this site has become one of the brightest events in world archeology at the beginning of the 21st century.

Excavations at Karam have yielded fundamentally new results that shed light on the history of human civilization: it has been established that the first man appeared in Altai more than 800 thousand years ago, and on the territory of the West Siberian Plain - much later, only 13-14 thousand years ago.

Staying here is not just an interesting vacation, but also a way to explore the world.
