Regional tourist center "Mountain Pharmacy"today it is a unique opportunity to plunge into the past, to see how Barnaul was born, to feel the flavor of that time, but not in the frozen form of a museum, but in a live format, unusual for Barnaul residents. Here, more than two hundred years ago, they prepared medicines from forest herbs; through a mountain pharmacy, the district hospitals were supplied with medicines, tools, books for doctors.

Why - mountain - pharmacy? The fact is that Barnaul was born as a mining town, which gave the name to many streets and architectural objects. The building has a long history, periods of prosperity and decline. Several years ago NPF"Altai bouquet"carried out the restoration of the building, and, which is very important, retained its original appearance - the facade is decorated in the style of Russian classicism.

Even in the hall, you can smell the herbs, here they still prepare medicinal broths according to old recipes. Tourists will find them, and not only them, in the Gornaya Apteka boutique, which contains a large number of unique products for beauty and health from the best Altai manufacturers.

At the reception, tourists are greeted by a girl, a pharmacist. She will lead a fascinating tour of the halls of the museum, introduce you to the basics of pharmacy, reveal the secrets of the preparation of medicines and pills of that time. The museum is equipped with unique exhibits, many of which were discovered during the work in the basements of the building: old pharmacy recipes, newspapers, bottles with medicines.
