Altai Territory, Slavgorod, Karl Liebknekht st., 143
The Slavgorod City Museum of Local Lore was founded in 1958 by Vladimir Gerasimovich Zhemerov, a native of the city of Slavgorod.

Until 1978, the museum was located in the building of the city House of Culture, then - in the building of the trading office of the merchant Selyutin, built at the beginning of the 20th century.

The funds of the museum have more than 25 thousand exhibits. The museum has 25 permanent exhibitions. More than 300 events are held annually by our employees. The Slavgorod City Museum of Local Lore is a participant in the All-Russian action "Night of Museums".

On the first floor of the museum, visitors can see authentic household items and clothes of settlers, collections of cameras and cinematics, samovars, musical instruments, letters from the front and things that belonged to the Slavgorod soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War. A separate exposition is dedicated to the railway workers who made a huge contribution to the formation and development of the city.

In the fall of 1928, Marshal of the Soviet Union Semyon Mikhailovich Budyonny addressed the noblemen from the balcony of the building. Now the balcony is one of the most popular places for photo shoots, including weddings.

Near the museum there is the city administration, the Glory Memorial, the central square, the monument to P.A. Stolypin and the sign of the 100th anniversary of Slavgorod.
