The Wedding Palace begins its history more than a hundred years ago as the House of the Malkov merchants. Here at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries the inn of the trading house was located. It was one of the best taverns of that time; it had common rooms and separate offices, two billiards. Later the tavern was transformed into the Metropol restaurant.
During the Great Patriotic War, the 5th, 80th, 56th Guards Divisions were formed in this building; 315th, 372nd Infantry Divisions and 42nd Brigade. In 1942, it housed the headquarters of the formation of the 315th Melitopol Order of the Red Banner of the Infantry Division.
Today, the registry office of the Central District of the city of Barnaul is located here, known among the townspeople as the Wedding Palace.
