The cascade of waterfalls on the Shinok River (tourists call it shorter and easier - Shinok waterfalls) cannot but cause admiration. Even old-timers never cease to be amazed at the fabulous beauty of the river. The mountains surrounding the valley change beyond recognition depending on the weather, time of day, and even how sunlight falls on them. Shinok flows, small streams and rivers enchant with their noise on the rifts, fir and deciduous forests, birch groves change their decoration throughout the year and delight the eye, and in the distance "squirrels" turn blue.

Anyone who has been here at least once, reaches here with his soul and will certainly return to meet again with the pristine beauty, to feel its cleansing power and power.

The central place of the Shinok river valley, its special attraction is the cascade of waterfalls located in the upper reaches of the river.

The waterfalls of the Shinok River are unique in several respects. The highest waterfall Shinka is also the largest in the Altai Territory. In terms of the number of waterfalls, the Shinok River is unsurpassed throughout the Altai. The beautiful mountainous landscape around the waterfalls complements their splendor.

In 2003, the expedition of the Young Local Lore Club, which carried out an inventory of remarkable natural objects in the reserve, took into account eight waterfalls and one water slide on the Shinok River. Perhaps these are not all the waterfalls available here. The Big Waterfall, or Giraffe, has a height of 50 meters. This is the highest waterfall in the Altai Territory. Waterfalls are of tectonic origin (embedded in limestones), or their nature is due to the blocky structure and layering of sandstones emerging in the riverbed.
